We made sure that this family friendly story that is expressed in a form of dance has a comfortable length for all ages, so we adjusted the time length. We also collaborated with local artists to enhance experience. Besides that, our production includes a visual synopsis in between acts to help audiences follow the story.”

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky completed his ballet The Sleeping Beauty in 1889. It is the second of his three ballets. It’s based on Perrault's La belle au bois dormant, or The Beauty Sleeping in the Forest. The first choreographer was Marius Petipa. The premiere took place at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg on January 15, 1890.
Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty has influenced the entire world of ballet and dance with its grand scale, sophisticated choreography, and amazing music. The ballet has inspired countless choreographers, dancers, and composers. The themes of love, good versus evil, and the triumph of beauty have been celebrated through years and keep being celebrated during our days. Salt Creek Ballet is happy to be part of this celebration.
