Wheaton College Artist Series presents Boston Brass on Friday, Sept. 23, 7:30 PM

"Music is the social act of communication among people, a gesture of friendship, the strongest there is," said English composer Malcolm Arnold. Wheaton College Artist Series is happy to present its beautiful 2022-2023 concert season, which will help us stay connected and inspired. The value of live communication between musicians and their audience can't be underestimated because live music has a healing power and creates unforgettable experiences. For 72 years, Wheaton College Artist Series has introduced its audiences to the world's best live music and dance from classical and folk traditions. This season will start with a concert presented by the acclaimed Boston Brass, a quintet of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba. It will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022 in the new 650-seat, acoustically engineered Armerding Concert Hall located at 520 E. Kenilworth Avenue in Wheaton.
Wheaton College Artist Series is happy to bring Boston Brass to the Chicago suburbs as these world-renowned musicians provide a one-of-a-kind musical experience featuring colorful classical arrangements, jazz standards, and the best of original brass repertoire. Established in 1986, Boston Brass has played to audiences in all 50 U.S. states and over 30 countries performing with orchestras, concert and marching bands, organists, and jazz bands. It also regularly collaborates with composers to create new works for the brass repertoire.
This season will also bring to Wheaton such acclaimed artists as organist David Shrader on November 12, Danish String Quartet on January 26, Queen's Cartoonists on February 17, English Chamber Orchestra on March 16, and pianist Awadagin Pratt on April 29.
Wheaton College Artist Series offers a convenient new ticketing program with a six-concert subscription and a three-concert subscription. All subscribers will receive preferred seating throughout the season, priority booking for Artist Series events, with the choice of a three- or six-concert package.
Six-concert subscribers will receive maximum savings off individual ticket prices, discounts to the Wheaton College Christmas Festival, the new Wheatie Card for discounts at local restaurants and businesses, and a discounted rate for dinner at Anderson Commons’ highly-rated Bon Appetit.
