All my conscious life I looked at people who achieved something, became popular and famous, became mega-stars of any kind and thought: “How did they do that? How did they achieve that? What features of their character helped them to come to that level? What is the difference between me and them? How can I learn from them?” I was always eager to know more about successful people, but I was interested not in their lifestyle, their relationships or what they wear. This is all about their outside presentation. I was more interested in their inner world; their personalities; their mind and how it works; their characteristics and how they made themselves what they are.

Therefore, meeting Cameron Diaz during the presentation of her new book called “Body Book” in Naperville on the 9th of January was very important for me. Yes, I am extremely interested in the topic itself – how to look good, how to stay healthy, how to take good care of your body and how to eat right. But there are tons of books about it – and nobody really cares. For many authors, it would be difficult to gather more than 600 people for an event where people would just listen about how the human body works and why we should eat healthy. However, a book about this subject written and presented by CAMERON DIAZ attracts much more attention because SHE wrote it, because people want to see her, and because people want to “touch” someone who is so famous, so glamorous, and so well-known. And among those people, of course, I was too.

Cameron behaved very simply like she was a woman from our neighborhood; she could have put her nose up, but she didn’t. She didn’t come to Naperville to tell us – you are all eating wrong, I am the one who knows what to do, how to eat, so listen and memorize. No, she didn’t do that. She was very open, very friendly, very nice, and explained complicated things in a very simple and easy to understand way. It was a pleasure for me just to be there, and of course, I peered into her and tried to understand her personality, to read between the lines.

“I want you to be happy”, said Cameron at the end, and I believe her. The more happy people are around us, the better our society will be and the better our world will be. Also, it will be more pleasant for us to communicate with each other and even to look at each other. And the most important factor – each of us will become a happier person inside of his or her own body. Feeling comfortable inside of your body – what can be more pleasant and more rewarding? What counts is what is inside of a person, literally what we eat, how we feel physically and spiritually, how we view this world and what we can give to other people. Cameron knows a secret of how to feel good about yourself – eat right, put inside of your body the right food, and you will feel right. You will feel good. But don’t forget, that “Your body is your responsibility,” as Cameron said.

What made the event even more memorable is that Cameron wasn’t just talking about nutrition with a serious face, she wasn’t boring. She has a great sense of humor that she used during her presentation. Several times she made the audience laugh. “Mean girls are hungry girls,” she said. The trick is to learn how to stay not hungry but still avoid wrong foods. Not easy, but possible, especially if a person really wants to do that. It is all about your choices and discipline, and Cameron underlined it many times. “Don’t look at others and don’t compare yourself to other people,” she said. And I totally agree with her. I felt that the whole audience was quietly agreeing with her too. Probably, many of the people who came to that presentation will look at their bodies differently now.

Cameron is a famous actress, and she has been famous for a while. Being 41, she looks great and has a healthy style of life that will help her to look good and to stay healthy for many years to come. Of course, writing this book was not only about health, probably it had something to do with publicity too. Famous people have to promote themselves, and this is part of their life. Besides that, when you get wiser and older many things change in your mind and you understand that life is not only about the way you look, as many young adults might think. And actually it is mostly not about it.

When you get older and wiser, you come to the understanding that it is about the way you feel inside, which consequently affects the way you look. So, it is about what you are inside. It is literally about what you put in your body (what you eat) and how it affects your life and your body, and what is most important, it is about what you present to this world as a person and about your inner world. Cameron, as a wise and experienced woman and actress came to the point in her life when she has something wise and helpful to share, and that what was the lesson that I learned from her. Grow personally, and then share your knowledge and experience with others and teach them how to grow. Thank you for this lesson, Cameron.
